Hi there seems to be some confusion about opening at the shop. Although we are around at the shop getting it moved and doing what needs to be done ( fitting sinks, cupboards, classroom etc) We CANT open until SAT 2nd JAN as we still have to wait for the plumber to Fit Sink, and the Window and door at the Classroom end have to be changed.

THE PHONE HAS NOW BEEN MOVED TO NEW SHOP so if you do want to see me about anything until saturday phone first as Im also sorting out Hospital things with LEWIS my youngest, we are at the hospital again today for pre-assessment and he goes in on Monday 4th for operation. Teresa is kindly working for me on monday and taking our first class.

I will be at shop tidying up on WEDS, THURS FRI various times. Thanks SUE

SORRY

Hi everyone,

The shop was closed on Sunday as both Teresa and Chris are away on holiday and we had arranged to spend the weekend with my middle son Glen who was 26 sunday and his daughter Sophie who will be 2 in oct. We did put a note on the door and apologies as to be honest what with everything else we had forgotten.

Lewis 15 was in a football tournament on Sunday morning and got a wrist injury and had his chest pains back (thought we had seen the last of those) so had to have yesterday off school and made the most out of being waited on hand and foot Couldnt open the shop as had to wait to hear from G.P. who after hours of waiting said it was to much for him to play 6 matches straight and his body couldnt keep up (he had a irregular heartbeat and a small hole when he was younger).

Anyone who turned up at the shop I'm sorry for any inconvenience but hope you understand.
The Rayleigh Mill is on tommorrow Chris has left her card the Lady Gardener with me and Teresa a Black and White lady card Mine is a Christmas Tri Shutter card. That should keep you busy. Thanks all for bearing with us. See you soon Sue

Tuesday 8 September 2009

I would like to say a big thank you to a special friend who kindly loaned me some stock she had sitting around at home until I finally get back on track and my photo glue etc turns up. You know who you are and I wont embarrass you . (But a big big thanks its good to know I still have special friends who have also offered help in the shop so I can have a few hours off whilst the girls are away).

Still no sign of the Kabins but I'm told it shouldnt be too long now. Whatever your doing enjoy it and see you soon Sue

So True

SHELL SHOCKED

Morning crafters

Still feeling a bit shell shocked today . I got a phone call Saturday to say the Cabins had met with a hitch and would not be ready by the AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY, (just my luck, 1 step forward 20 back) Something to do with the design!!!

So back to square one, We are setting up temporary premises for the time being so we can get back to doing what we do best Card-making classes and Computers with Chris etc.

Not Good news as our Hallway has boxes of laminate flooring, my sheds all 4 at home are full of shop stuff and the end of my garden has been taken over by fittings (good job its a 150ft long garden)

Well beggars cant be choosers so we have to make the best of it and smile!!Not happy but nothing we can do until the problem is sorted and we can move into our New Cabins.

Shane's not happy as he has booked time off work to move the shop and fit it out ,and cant change the dates,Kris has also arranged his time for the Grand Opening. Never mind I'm told the wait will be worthwhile eventually. We will do our best to accomadate whilst in cramped surroundings and hope you bear with us. Trying to get a workshop list ready too.
Thanks Sue

Friday 7 August 2009

UPDATE

Hi Sorry no new posts since last week, what with Chris and Teresa unwell Both on Tammyflu!!

Still waiting for cabins and confirmation as to when they are going to be ready.

But The sink has Arrived whoopee!!! And we have got the wooden flooring so now the wait begins,Must say it's been the longest 8 weeks of my life and very costly too!! Hard when your trying to survive on your own,(Maybe the lottery will shine on us).

So the date we have is still the August Bank Holiday Weekend unless you hear otherwise,Please call in around then and support us. See you all soon

Sue, Kris,Chris and Teresa, (oh and Shane he's having a week off to help us get ready ,building counters and laying the laminate flooring etc)

REMINDER

Hi everyone, just to remind you we are NOT at the Mill next Weds 5th August, but return on the 12th,19th,26th.

Last night we made An art deco tri-fold card from the Tabbycat Art Deco cd. A Matt and Layered card using A glittered Peel off Flower, and A Moose in PJ's with decoupaged bunny slippers and bright coloured backing papers from the new Toffee Christmas Special Edition cd.

Teresa wasnt well so it left me and Chris who was also not feeling well, but the Ladies finished their cards and braved the awful weather for a few hours. It doesnt seem like over 3 years since I first started this club with Sharon initially, then Sharon ran it on her own for a while before passing it back to me again, Its nice to see that some of the ladies have been loyal from the very first week, and still come along for the company.

To all the New Ladies I hope you enjoy your Weds with us and continue to support the club for years to come.

Well the Concrete base is now laid and the cabins are arriving early by One Week, so the job of laying flooring and Coating the Cabins in Cuprinol soon begins,It seems like ages, I look forward to seeing you all again soon.

I'll be at the new place on Saturday 12 till 4 if you have anything to collect and we have the August Making Cards £3.75, Parchment craft mag £3.40,and the Creative Cardmaking (cant think offhand but about that price) if you need it, Until the phone line is put in we can only take cash .

Lastly to Chris and Teresa when you read this GET WELL SOON both of you and let me know what classes your doing when you get back from your holidays!!! IM GOING TO WINDOWSILL BAY this year!!!. xx Sue

Thursday 23 July 2009

Good News, We Should be open by the August Bank Holiday weekend ,Myself ,Chris and Teresa are looking forward to getting back to some sort of normality,With Both the Girls working hard to get a Workshop Schedule ready ,I'm sure they will both come up with some lovely classes for you to enjoy.

Thank you to the people who leave comments on this blog it is appreciated, and lets us know there is still life out there in Craftland.

Myself and Chris were at View Gardens yesterday for a few hours (sorting through boxes) and were amazed at the amount of people who asked us when we were opening, if we had a class list, and also if we needed staff!! We saw lots of new faces and if this is a taste of whats to come, then Thank you GOD it looks like we could be very busy.

Just something to make you smile...........
As you know I had my Gallbladder and stones removed in June, and what with us then moving at very short notice (4 days) we told as many people as we could that we were re-locating, However I understand that many of our customers have turned up at the Previous address and been concerned we have gone, In Fact Someone Actually went into the Pet Shop and asked if I had DIED!!!

(just to confirm I am ALIVE the op went well and whoever you were I'll buy you a tea/coffee at View gardens for making me smile).

Until next time Keep crafting, keep smiling, keep coming to Rayleigh Mill and Keep the AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY FREE .

I will phone everyone who has them put by so they can be picked up.

Thank you to all our regulars at The Rayleigh Mill last night, you do make me laugh!! You should see your faces when we give you something new to try,(I may start asking Chris to Video it perhaps create and craft could learn from it)

If it wasnt for you ladies we would go bonkers just waiting for the new shop to open, you dont know how frustrating it is to look at packed boxes for weeks on end and not being able to find anything. We have been packed for 2 weeks and 2 days now and still got about 4 more to go.

The original plan was to transfer from shop to shop so there would be a continuation of service, but just goes to show how things change,Never dreamed we wouldnt be able to trade for 6 weeks,But our new Landlord is 100% on the ball and Legitimate to so we know the LONG wait will eventually be worth it. He has been extremely busy levelling our space for the New Shop to go on as well as expanding the garden centre even more,(only wish we had moved when we first got the offer 3 years ago).

Well bye for now I'm off to do the school run for the 29th YEAR I think it must be a Guiness book of records for school runs with YOUR OWN kids and yes Lewis still has a year to go to school so that will make it 30 YEARS as Nikki is 35 next March. Wow beat that.

Please call me or Chris or visit us at View Gardens for more info.

Lastly, I have heard today that Pulling on the Glitz is closed, PLEASE DO NOT GOSSIP OR GIVE BAD FEELINGS although we havent spoken of late my SINCERE WISHES go to Karen and all her staff at this very sad time, I can relate somewhat as we have been very close ourselves to throwing in the towel this past year. Let us all wish the Staff of Pulling on the Glitz and Karen all the very best for the future after all they were very successful over the last 12 years.

BREAKING NEWS

Well where do I begin.........

First of all its my Birthday Today YIPPEE, Thanks to all of you that found the time to make the most beautiful cards ive ever seen,it truly is amazing how you all remember year after year ill treasure them for ever.

Now the BREAKING NEWS, as you are all aware the situation with the (window people and the landlords at the cafe) has not been good for a while now and we looked into locating to alternative premises before Christmas, We have consulted both the landlord and Windows(cant even bear to print their name) about the leaking roof which is affecting the electricity supply to both our units and the windows unit, to no avail,no one is bothered and furthermore the reason they are not bothered is that they are spurring off our electricity supply and not paying for it!!!!

After much telephoning which I really need right now (operation still only last week) the crux of it is they both think its funny that its in my name and the atitude is tough prove it.

The news is we are not going to tollerate this any longer and are moving out on 1st JULY 09.

We have secured new premises which we will post details of very soon and as soon as these are built with RUNNING WATER Yahoo, we will re-open.

Classes this friday 26th still on, Shop open until 4pm Tues next week, I have a couple of Paper stands for sale at £25 each if your interested phone shop, First come first served basis Cash only on these please.

At the moment we are looking to open end AUG beg SEPT and we will be about 5 mins away from where we are now keeping checking back for details.

RAYLEIGH MILL NOT AFFECTED AT ALL!!!!.

Magazines, and orders now in to collect if you come in to the shop for anything else and still want it then phone my home on 01375 841240 we will arrange to get the items to you by phonecall to arrange delivery. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT . If you need to contact us phone the shop until tuesday 4pm

CHRIS AND TERESA will be coming with me to the new premises I value my staff and they are sticking with me a big thanks to them both in what has been awkward times of late.

WE ARE NOT CLOSING contrary to the RUMOURS, However once I have the all clear to return to work after my Hospitalisation we will be looking to re-locate before Christmas. The situation with the leaking roof and rising utility bills and our unhelpful neighbours have made the once happy and successful working location now intollerable. This isnt something taken lightly but with summer almost at an end the position and state of repairs at the shop are only going to get worse. We are sorry to be saying goodbye to Our Friends in Barneys Pet Shop, Aladins Cave ,and the Garden Centre. Chris and Teresa are helping to run the shop and also taking into consideration their other commitments we have limited class time.
